Christel House learning centers are non-residential facilities. We believe a greater impact is achieved by working with the child, the family and the community. Parents are expected to volunteer and partner with us to support the success of every child. This holistic approach is an effective means of poverty alleviation, community development, and systemic change.
Community Outreach workshops include topics such as conflict resolution, nutrition, health and hygiene, substance abuse, family planning, parenting skills and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Additionally, our social workers provide resources to parents and children coping with domestic violence, neglect or abuse.
